Greenwood’s visionary approach in delivering new educational heights had to provide students with a limitless ability to learn, explore, be creative, communicate, share ideas and brainstorm with their colleagues, teachers, mentors at any time and from any place. Information Technology infrastructure, as one of the main enablers for the vision to become reality, had to deliver an environment that is robust, secure, flexible and uninhibiting.

The Solution: Robust Gigabit LAN/WAN/Wireless Network, scaleable
server farm, strong security.

Lanworks team of IT professionals reviewed business, project and applications requirements, designed an IT infrastructure solution layout, managed and implemented the initiative end-to-end. Today each student at Greenwood College gets a HP Compaq Wireless notebook, the school has complete wireless coverage as well as traditional LAN in each classroom connected over Gigabit Cisco Powered Network. Security is handled at several levels utilizing a Cisco PIX firewall, Intrusion Detection and Antivirus. Network uptime is monitored by Cisco Works. Web enabled eLearning via Blackboard, that runs on a Compaq server farm, give students lesson plan development, content delivery, calendar function, interactive whiteboard, and discussion, remote classroom participation and much more.

The vision of delivering new horizons in learning was turned into reality. Today Greenwood College School students attend classes and work on their assignments in the new eLearning way that is truly revolutionary. The IT environment that enables this is reliable, secure, stable, scaleable and uninhibiting. Various technologies were seamlessly integrated together with minimized ongoing maintenance. Greenwood College School can further focus on expanding its reach and contributions.
