Operational Costs, Maximize Efficiencies
AEGON desktop environment consisted of several different PC models and configurations. Desktop operating systems and office automation suites were across different platforms. With hundreds of desktop applications and client software to support on daily basis, complexities were measurable. Data about PC hardware and software inventory was needed for cost justification and asset allocation. Security management at the desktop needed maximized control. Desktop support staff needed standardized environment and tools to effectively.
The Solution: Altiris Client Management Suite
Altiris Client Management Suite delivered to all of the AEGON requirements. Inventory Solution enabled us to gather all data about PC hardware and software on the systems. Gathering the data about the inventory is dynamic and desktop support team can pull it at will to prepare all required reports. Standard Operating System images and application deployment packages were developed using Altiris WISE tools.
The Value
Today AEGON supports its fleet over 1000 desktops with few desktop support analysts. The desktop support team responds to the business needs by deploying new applications end-to-end within 2 weeks. Patching of the PC fleet has become a non issue. Desktop software usage and licensing is fully under control. The client pays for what they truly use. Enhancements and saving that are of a strategic value to AEGON.
